Arthur Cox Recognised at the 2020 Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation Awards for FLAC research on victims of domestic violence

Arthur Cox has been recognised at the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation Awards, which are presented to Lex Mundi member firms who provide outstanding pro bono support. Arthur Cox received the award for member firms in Europe.

The Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation is an affiliate of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms. The Foundation’s mission is to engage Lex Mundi’s global network of leading independent law firms to support and empower those working to bring about high impact and sustainable social change that improves communities and lives. The Foundation achieves its mission through working with Lex Mundi lawyers to provide critical pro bono legal services.

Arthur Cox, the Lex Mundi member firm for Ireland and Northern Ireland, collaborated with the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation to complete a multi-jurisdictional pro bono project for the FLAC through PILA's Pro Bono Referral Scheme. Arthur Cox lawyers Greg Glynn and Zac Van Horn led the project, which involved in-depth research on issues relating to access to civil legal aid for survivors of domestic violence across 10 jurisdictions worldwide. The resulting research was collated as a “best practices” survey and is assisting FLAC in advocating for improvements to the civil legal aid system for victims of domestic violence in Ireland.
