NGOs petition ECtHR against introduction of Court fees

A large group of prominent NGOs have grouped together to campaign against the possible introduction of fees at the ECtHR, as was proposed the Interlaken Reform Summit. The proposal was discussed as a way of reducing the number of cases currently before the Court. The group includes Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Interights and the AIRE Centre. The group believe that the introduction of fees will create a barrier to individuals who have had their rights violated and have launched a petition against the proposed change.
