UK leading commercial law firms assist riot victims pro bono

UK pro bono scheme LawWorks has established a pro bono project called "Riot Help" in conjunction with City law firms, to assist victims of the riots in London who could not otherwise afford legal advice. Participating commercial law firms include Eversheds, Allen & Overy and Slaughter & May.

Maeve O'Sullivan, case worker with Riot Help commented "the government...doesn't seem to have considered the potentially common scenario of riot victims seeking compensation under the act having had their claims unexpectedly rejected by insurance claims."
